Enjoyed It

I ordered this specifically from the publisher, Avalon Press, because I'm interested in submitting to their company. The book in and of itself was great. I really liked the size. I hate how large and cumbersome hardbacks can be, but this was nice.

As far as Turner's "Adieu, My Love"-I enjoyed the story. Gobbled it down in two days. This is an interesting setting (early French/Canada) a lot of people aren't familiar with. She's a great descriptive writer-doesn't overdo it but takes you there with definitive imagery. I don't know if I'd want to pay as much for hardcover along the lines of this genre-but I would definitely pick up another one of her novels if given the chance. (Wouldn't mind a sequel either.) I like to learn when I read historicals but I don't want to be lectured. Turner does it just right.

Just as hilarious and adorable as volume one. First couple pages are in color again, and the pictures are still arranged 4-koma style.
In this book, we get to see more timelines (and the Homura bar), and we also get to experience some of them via other Homuras.

Great translations with introductions

Especially for those who are interessted in Basil there are several homilies translated into English for the first time.
There is also a general introduction and an introduction to each homily which is superbly done and very helpful to make sense of what you are reading.
I got the book as I am interested in Basil's Trinitarian doctrine and exegesis. There were several homilies which were a must read.
DelCogliano, as in his translation (with Radde-Gallwitz) of Against Eunomius, did a wonderful job making the writings of Basil accessible to us.

Scouting expeditions, massage circles, campfire games (around a candle) and mental gymnastics are all included. I work in a school for special needs children and there are many games that our students will be able to play and enjoy. Of course this is not a book meant to be handed off to a child with instructions to "go and play." This is a book to give adults new ideas of how to interact with children and find new ways to enjoy some down time.

One of my favorite parts of this book are the little bits of wisdom tucked here and there among the games, Such as "Imagination is more important tan knowledge" Albert Einstein .

"I love this book. I am a home daycare mom and this book has lots of fun ideas to use with the kids. African Back Drums (pg 36) is a favorite for the kids to do with a friend and it feels great and relives the day’s tension when the kids use my back as the drum! Not bad, not great.

Ok book. I teach grade 4 and I find about 4-5 games I actually do with my students. Some games didn't feel right to be used in a public school setting. Not a complaint, just my opinion. The few games I use, the kids really enjoy.

Great games for kids

101 Relaxation Games for Children, by Allison Bartl is an easy to read book geared towards those who teach or otherwise interact with young children.

The book delivered more than I was expecting from a book of this type. The first great surprise was the excellent set up of the list of games table. This table lists all of the games by name and shows what size group each particular game is best suited for. Another great tool are the icons used throughout the book, these break down the games into even more detail so you can tell which would be best suited for your needs. For example, the Sunshine Icon indicates that the game involves going outdoors, so if you are in the middle of a New England winter and the outside temp is 2 degrees, you would know to skip the game with this icon.

The second pleasure of this book is the wonderful and imaginative games within. I found all of them to be easy to understand and fun for everyone involved. My personal favorites include Eagle Eyes (page 40) where the group must stand still and use their eyes to find an object hidden in plain view (the purpose being to calm rowdy children) and Mental Journeys (page 87) where the leader of the group describes a place everyone is familiar with and the others in the group quess where they are talking about, a great way to enhance a child's descriptive powers and listening skills.

There are even a few games here the I feel could be beneficial to myself, such as Angry Spaghetti (page 15), where you use imagery to pull negative thoughts out of your head. I know I could use some help getting rid of bad thoughts at the end of the day!

Overall, I would highly recommend this book to any care giver, teacher, and parent. I plan to show this to my son's second grade teacher, I know she will find many uses for this book when dealing with energetic 7 year olds!

A great book!

This is a classic book, and even though it deals with tube circuits, it also has much more information on circuits not dependent on tubes, such as crossover networks for speakers, and hi-pass and low-pass frequency filters. There are equations that describe the resistance that is "reflected" back into a primary circuit from a resistance in the secondary circuit. I never saw this anywhere else. And, anyone who is working with vacuum tube circuits such as hi-fi amplifiers, which have come back into vogue, will find information here that is hard to find elsewhere.

Ek het die boek geniet, maar vind die storielyn net te uitgerek. Ek was al oor die helfte gelees voordat die boek my eers regtig begin bind het.

This book is a hot adult romance that contains adultcontent, and usually I don't really like those type of reads as much, but theauthor does a wonderful job bringing diversity to the table and a very sweetlove story between the two main characters Zoey and Brandon. Brandon comes frommoney and Zoey has had a traumatic up bringing and the pair really worked for meas a reader, and then there is the villian Sandy who just doesn't know whenenough is enough and Brandon doesn't want her. The story gets intense and forme it had a lot of everything so I'm giving it a 5 star rating and grabbingbook 2! For an adult audience though.-Book Relations Blog

I really wish I would've read the reviews before I read this book, because if I had, I would have held off on reading it. I hate cliffhangers, which is why I gave this book 3 stars. If I could have, I would have given it a 2.5.

I really loved the beginning of this book, then the author lost me with the graphic details on the child molestation. Really, it was way too graphic, I skipped it. I kept reading and the characters grew on me.

Really sick of these authors with the cliffhangers. Sometimes it takes months or a year for them to follow up with the second book, by then who even remembers what happened in the first book. Some of these authors don't even bother to finish the series. Idk who started this trend, but it sucks for the reader. Then they charge full price, for an incomplete book.

Will I read anything else from this author? I guess I will have to, to get an ending to this book. Lol This was my first time with this author, I had to get used to her style of writing, and if I wasn't for the ending I would have given this book 5 stars.

I knew there was a cliffhanger but I read it anyway. It could have been better. Too little character development Yes, the sex between Brandon and Zoey is steamy but that's about it. The author had a great premise but failed to flesh it out. The end was just a jumble so it could lead to another book. Plus, the author needs to do a little more research. Sandy calling the hospital pretending to be Zoey's mother would not have gotten information over the phone. That would be a violation of HIPAA laws . Hopefully the conclusion will be better.

Pretty OK, but Waiting for Book #2

Cliffhangers get me every time. This was the 1st time that I've read this author, and it was a pretty OK book. Based on some of the previous comments, I might need to check out the other books that she's written. There were a lot of sexual scenes in this book, and I think it took away a little bit from the story line. In addition, it seemed to jump between scenes and a break using a couple of asterisks would've been helpful. However, I'm very much interested in Book #2 to see what happens with Brandon & Zoey. All in all, not too bad.
